Halloween

Well , Addie had her first Halloween experience. She was a bumble-bee and was hilarious. She had a fall fest parade at school where she and the other infants in her class went to different candy stations and "trick-or-treated." Me, Leenie and Auntie BB got to go along with her. The pics that are attached are ones taken by Auntie BB. Obviously it was Addie's naptime, so she really wasn't that into it. But, she looked cute. On Halloween night, we went to see Caitlin at her house for pics and candy. Then we went trick or treating with Cole and Amelia Kate at their house. Actually, Addie just assisted in handing out candy in her costume, but she had fun anyway!

Easter

Yes, I know this is really late, but we've been a busy crew! Addie's first Easter was so much fun! We had Good Friday with the McLins and then off to Rayville for Saturday and Easter Sunday with the Jordans. This was Addie's first real trip to Rayville, so, of course, we had to have a party. This party was complete with an easter egg hunt for the kids, most of which are in their 20s, which was hilarious!

My little sports fan

If you haven't noticed . . . Addie looks just like her Daddy. And, much to my fear, she is starting to act just like him too! I have caught Ryan explaining the intricacies of a 3-3-5 football defense, who Matt Mauck is and how he came to LSU, the secrets behind the Tigers many baseball championships, and the mechanics behind Tiger Woods' golf swing. Ryan is also constantly asking Addie to show him her golf grip. Now, of course, Addie prefers to watch March Madness, the Braves and the Masters with her Daddy than catching a great Lifetime or Hallmark movie with her Momma! Here are some pics of Addie watching golf with her Daddy. You can also see from these pics how much they look alike!

Adelaide's Christening

Adelaide was christened on March 29, 2009 at Blackwater United Methodist Church. It was wonderful to have our family present to witness this blessed event! All of her aunts, uncles, counsins, grandparents and great-grandparents were in attendance! Addie wore a christening dress that was made by her Leenie's best friend's (KK Vardell) mom for Jenny when she was christened 26 years ago. The dress is just a gorgeous today as it was when I wore it for the first time! Ms. Linda Franklin made a beautiful slip to add a tier to the dress for Addie. We plan to add a tier for each generation, and continue to pass down this family heirloom. Addie is the first grandchild the wear the dress and we were so excited for someone to wear it again! The party after the christening was a lot of fun! Addie received some beautiful gifts from everyone! Her cousins, Caitlin, Cole and Amelia Kate helped me open the gifts! Here are some pics of Addie in her dress! She was just beautiful! She looked like a little doll!

One Month Old

Well, Addie is one month old. She has grown so fast, already 8 pounds and 5 ounces! We are so proud of our big girl! And, she had her first real bath this month. Gone are the screaming fits at every bath time. She loves being able to get into the warm water of her tub and just hang out! Here are some pics from the first bath. She was so surprised when we put her in the water! She is also sucking on her thumb alot. We are trying to stop this habit before it gets out of hand. But, when she wants to comfort herself, the first thing she does it stick her thumb in her mouth! We are taking her first formal portraits this month, which should be fun!

She's Finally Here!

After months of waiting . . . our little bundle of joy is finally here! Adelaide Elizabeth McLin was born on February 9, 2009 . . . almost three weeks before her due date! When she was born, she weighed 6 lbs and 7.7 ozs and was 19 3/4 inches long. After a really long two days, and two trips to the hospital (with hazards flashing and weaving in and out of traffic on Joor Rd) she finally arrived! She is such a blessing and we are having so much fun with her! She is definitely a night owl, stayinhg up most of the night and sleeping all day. Thanks to everyone that has come to see her! We have had so much fun showing her off! We only wish she would wake up during the day so that everyone could see her awake! Here are some pics . . . we cannot tell who she looks like quite yet. But, she has a full head of black hair, blue eyes, and the prettiest pink skin!!

Feburary 2, 2009

Hi family and friends! I had a few people request that we set up a blog for when Addie (our daughter) finally graces us with her presence. So . . . here it is! We'll post all of her pics here so that everyone can see her!

In the mean time, we'll share a pic of our newest family member . . . Tiger . . . our black lab. Tiger is a 2 year old black lab that we adopted from Steve Wilson. He is a sweetheart and is adjusting to life out in Slaughter quite nicely. He now thinks he is the king of the house, but he'll have a rude awakening when we bring home the baby! But, for now, we are content to lavish him with tons of love and attention!
